Your email addressIf you send an email to me, or if you use the 'contact' page you may wonder what happens to your details. Actually, it is very simple. In both cases I see an email from you in my inbox. I will reply to that email, if a reply is needed. But what about when we have finished our discussion? Well, if I have an offer that I think you might be interested in I will let you know. If you don't want to know about these kind of offers just tell me and I will not send anything else again. I do not share details that you give to me with anyone else either. I hate it when it happens to me and I will not sell/give your information away and cause that problem for you. I mean who needs all those fake tablets anyway!? "But Mark, I'm only on your site because you contacted me!" If that is the case then I was provided with your email address by Wedding Daze. They are an on-line wedding directory and they run lots of wedding fayres. I advertise with them and part of that package is that I get details of couples looking for photographers. If you signed up at the wedding fayre, or via their site, to allow suppliers to contact you then they will have provided me your details. If you do not want further contact with me please simply email me and I will take you off my list. Warm Milk and CookiesYou have probaly heard about cookies before. Like many other websites, the morethanaphotograph website uses cookies. The ones we use are looked after by Google Analytics, one of Google Inc's services. The are used to help us analyse how users use our site. The cookies are text files placed on your computer. Their purpose is to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. Note that word anonymous. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google's servers in America. This information is then used to evaluate visitors' use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity for us. We will not use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site: remember that word anonymous? We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source as part of our use of the Google statistical analytics tool. Indeed, Google also have a similar statement in their terms of service which you might want to read if you are concerned (I wouldn't mind guessing that their own search engine stores similar information, so if you are happy using their site, then, this one should be no problem at all!). Google say that they will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. I think we are all safe. But I do not like cookies! That's fine by us. We use cookies only to find out how people use our site. If the vision of Big Brother worries you - turn them off. The site will still work. Need a hand doing that? Well here is a link to those chaps at Microsoft that tells you all about cookies so that you can turn them off for yourself. Links to other sitesOf course, other sites that we have links to are not in our control and this privacy policy does not cover the links within this site that go elsewhere. Where you do find links on this site (like on the 'links' page) they have been put there because we think they may have something of use to you. Warm Milk and Cookies - againI know it is not really anything to do with the privacy policy but my reference to Warm Milk and Cookies is from something someone gave me many years ago on a bit of A4 paper titled Warm Milk and Cookies. If you have never read it the quote from Robert Fulghum's book called All I Really Need to Know I Learned In Kindergarten is well worth the read. Songs of similar ilk exist, but this is the original. Enjoy. |
