Register Office photography

If you are getting married in the middle of the week at your local Register Office you might be forgiven for taking one look at most photographers' websites and assuming that they do not cater for you! You may be right, you may be wrong, but how do you tell?

Similarly, if you are getting married abroad and then having a party with all of your friends when you get back you might have a hard job finding a photographer to cover just the party.

I have always loved old photographs. Having spent a long time looking at treasured memories doing research into our family tree it struck me just how important those old wedding photographs and family pictures at Christenings are. These are special moments in our lives. Once, a photographer would have taken images of these important events when everyone was dressed up in their "Sunday best". The phrase "wedding photography" seems to ignore all those people who are celebrating their union at a Register Office (that's the Registry Office to us mere mortals but the official title is Register Office).

Have you seen anyone offering Register Office photography? I do.

A celebration party when you return from a wedding on a beach somewhere exotic is also something that I can cater for.

For small mid-week civil ceremonies, I will be with you from about half an hour before the event to photograph people arriving. If the official allows photography during the ceremony I will take some images then too (you must check). Afterwards I will take a few shots of traditional groups. If you are moving on to a nearby reception, and there is time, I will happily take further photos there. My aim is to take photos quickly and get out of your way so that you may enjoy your day.

What if you are getting married at the Register Office on a Saturday? Please check with me for availability. Generally I am not able to sign up a Register Office wedding package more than one month before the wedding, but if you give me your details I can confirm closer to the time whether I am still free or not.
